About 

M&J Tax Service was founded in 1977 by Melvin Messner and Helen Joseph. Melvin and Helen realized a need in the community to provide low-cost tax preperation services so that everybody would be able to capitalize on govenment tax breaks and additional, typically difficult to understand deductions.Their primary focus was to provide affordable tax preperation services that anybody could afford.

Word spread and, within years, the business and increased and M&J Tax Service started offering tax preperation services to local businesses, partnerships, and corporations. A few shorts years later, in the early 1980's, Melvin's son, Garry Messner, joined the business and started preparting taxes as well.

As tax laws continued to become more complex, people relied more on the reliable and professional team at M&J Tax Service. The 90's continued to bring around many changes at M&J Tax Service.  As Helen retired, the team expanded to include Kirk Weston, a colleague of Melvin's, as well as Roxanne Fox and Brad Messner, Garry's children.  In the late 90's, M&J Tax Service continued to expand their line of offerings to include additional business services.  Also in the late 90's, M&J Tax Service began to use computerized tax preperation software.

In the mid-2000's, after the passing of Melvin Messner, Garry stepped up as the sole owner of M&J Tax Service.  His wife, Cheryl, soon joined the team to assist with office and administrative functions.  With the additional support staff, M&J Tax Service began to eletronically file tax returns. 

In 2009, Garry Messner passed away and the remaining team decided to continue providing tax preperation services - as was the passion of their founders. Cheryl Messner, Garry's wife, agreed to take on the reigns as owner and additional tax preparers were added to the team.

Now, we look forward to a bright future continuing to prepare inceom tax returns for individuals and businesses while remaining affordable and true to our heritage.
